I was born in Austria, and grew up in South Africa, but at the heart of it I am French and Chinese. With all these backgrounds, things like identity can be complicated and fleeting. What does it mean to be French? What does it mean to live here etc.

Much like the complexities of life, it is individualistic and hard to polish down to a single sentence. We like to be literal, it makes things simple but life isn’t simple nor do we experience a memory the same as another.

That is why my work is abstract. Sometimes it can appear juvenile but the layers are under the surface. Much of my work is based on feeling and nuance. I like to let my work change depending on how I look at it on the day and I hope people can have the same experience. To see what they need to see when they see it.
